Arsenal Sign Park Chu-Young

Arsenal have agreed to sign South Korean captain Park Chu-Young after Lille accepted a 10 million pounds offer.

Young's move to join Arsenal was confirmed after he did not turn up for the second medical with French champions Lille.

Reports suggested Park had agreed terms with Lille and had completed the first part of a medical but skipped the second part after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger gave him an offer, The Telegraph reports.

"We haven't had a telephone call, nothing. From what we understand he could be at Arsenal," Lille president Michel Seydoux was quoted, as saying.

Young, who had previously been linked with Fulham, would become Wenger's fifth summer signing and help offset the loss of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Arsenal have also been linked with Lille's Eden Hazard and it remains to be seen whether their move for Young will have soured their relationship with the French club.
