Highest transfer fees ever paid for goalkeepers.

1. Gianluigi Buffon
In 2001 Juventus signed Buffon for a world-record goalkeeper's transfer fee of a reported £32.6m from Parma, with part of the transfer fees paid via the transfer of Jonathan Bachini to Parma.

 2.David de Gea
20 year old David De Gea will reportedly cost Manchester United £18m and become the second most expensive keeper behind Gianluigi Buffon.

3.Manuel Neuer
On 1 June 2011 Schalke and Bayern Munich confirmed that Neuer will move to Bayern Munich in July 2011.Neuer signed a five-year contract that will last until June 2016. The move was worth £15m million, making Neuer the third most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

4.Angelo Peruzzi
In 2000, Angelo Peruzzi joined Lazio from Inter Milan for a then world record fee of £10.5m. He made over 200 appearances in Serie A and European competition for Lazio.

5.Fernando Muslera
Fernando Muslera joined Galatasaray from Lazio on a 5-year contract while he was on duty in the Copa América with Uruguay. The transfer involved Lorik Cana moving in the opposite direction, to Lazio, while Galatasaray also paid €6.75 million to Muslera's former club, Montevideo Wanderers who owned 50% of his playing rights. The total value of his transfer is therefore believed to be in the region of €12 million (£9.93m), making Muslera the most expensive goalkeeper transfer in Turkey and the fifth most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

6.Craig Gordon
In August 2007, Craig Gordon joined Sunderland from Hearts for a fee of £9m. The fee was a British record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.

7.Thibaut Courtois
Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Coutois became the 5th most expensive goalkeeper ever after Chelsea paid Racing Genk £7.8m for the 19-year old.


8. Fabien Barthez
Fabian Barthez joined United from Monaco for a then record fee paid by a British club for a goalkeeper in 2000. He cost Manchester United £7.8m.
