Shoaib Akhtar Confirms Participation in Sri Lanka T20 League

Snubbed by the Indian Premier League, Pakistani cricketers are eagerly looking forward to participating in the Sri Lankan Twenty20 League which is going to be held from July 15 to August 1.


Retired Pakistani speedster The Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akthar has confirmed that he would be participating in the Sri Lankan Premier Twenty20 League. 

Other then Shoaib Akthar, Shahid Afridi has also confirmed his participation in the League and would be captaining the Nagenahira Nagas team.

The tournament stretching for 24 matches would feature seven teams. Former Sri Lanka captains Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara besides current captain Tillikaratne Dilshan will be leading the participating sides along with Afridi, Daniel Vettori and former Sri Lanka pacer Chaminda Vaas.


The seven teams that are going to participate in the tournament are: 
1. Basnahira captained by Tillakaratne Dilshan.
2. Kandurata captained by Kumar Sangakkara
3. Nagenahira captained by Shahid Afridi.
4. Ruhuna captained by Sanath Jayasuriya.
5. Uthuru captained by Daniel Vettori.
6. Uva captained by Chaminda Vas.
7. Wayamba captained by Mahela Jayawerdene.
