Bangladesh Fans Apologize to West Indies team and Shakib

After yesterdays attack on the West Indies team bus and Shakib Al Hasan's residence fans started an online campaign to apologize to the West Indies team as well as Shakib.

The campaign Send Flowers to the West Indies Team was initiated on BanglaCricket forum soon got viral on Facebook as more and more people joined in.

The message that got viral on Facebook read: "Please send flowers to the West Indies Cricket team staying at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. No need to make any statement. The flowers will be message enough. Please Copy/Paste this as your status update, call as many people you know in Dhaka, and ask them to do the same. Let's do this! "

Fans gathered outside the Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka where the West Indies team is staying carrying play cards and bouquets. West Indies captain Darren Sammy came out to see the fans but was not allowed to go out due to security reasons.

Sammy then sent a guy to take pictures of the fans gathered outside the hotel and later viewed the pictures on his cell phone.


Fans also presented bouquets to Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan and apologized to him, Shakib's house was attacked on Friday by crazed fans after Bangladesh's loss to West Indies.



Thousands of fans also flooded Chris Gayle's twitter account with apologizes.

One message read : " we r extremly sorry! Have no words to apologise.Those who did it r freaky crazy people & not represent Bangladesh! Again sorry:(. "

Another fan said : "from the Bangladeshi people, I am sorry, very very very very sorry, Please forgive us for that accident. Please please please. "
