Pakistan vs Sri Lanka T20 Highlights | Abu Dhabi 2011

Live Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Twenty20: After winning the test series 1-0 and hammering Sri Lanka 4-1 in the ODI series Pakistan will look to put the icing on the cake by winning the solitary Twenty20 International to be played between the two countries at Abu Dhabi.

Sri Lanka who have been in dismal form since World Cup losing every Test and ODI series they have played, but there is slight hope for the Island nation as they have been unbeaten in T20's over that period. And they would be desperate to go home on a winning note.

PakistanvsSriLanka

Stats:
Pakistan are known to be the masters of T20's and with good reason on one hand they have devastating hitters in the form of Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal and Abdul Razzaq and on the other hand they have a bowling unit like no other T20 side.

The three top wicket takers in the T20 format are Shahid Afridi (53), Umar Gul (47) and Saeed Ajmal (45). Sri Lanka on the other hand boost 2 of the 5 century holders in T20 cricket in the form of Tilkertne Dilshan and Mahela Jayawerdene, but sadly for the Sri Lankan's they would be without the services of Jayawerdene as he is out injured.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Live Streaming 5th ODI

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 5th ODI Live Streaming (Pak vs Sl at Abu Dhabi): Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take to the field for the fifth and final ODI of the 2011 today, although Pakistan have already snatched the series and are 3-1 up but they'll be looking to strengthen their hold on fifth place in the ICC Rankings.

Sri Lanka on the other hand would be desperate to end the series on a winning note, the Islanders have been dismal throughout the tournament and have won just one out of seven matches.

Match finished Pakistan won by 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka will be kicking themselves at the way they lost the 4th ODI, the Lankans needed 44 more runs with Jayawerdene and Sanagakkara at the crease but from then on it was all Afridi, as Sri Lanka were undone by the two Pakistani "A's" Ajmal and Afridi.

Team News:
Pakistan all rounder Abdul Razzaq has suffered a shoulder injury and won't be available for the remainder of the series. Imran Farhat is injured too. This means Junaid Khan and Asad Shafiq could both be included in the side. As for Sri Lanka Jayawerdene will miss the fifth ODI.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Live Streaming 4th ODI

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 4th ODI Sharjah Live Streaming ( Pak vs Sl Fourth ODI 2011): Pakistan will be looking to wrap up the series in Sharjah after going 2-1 up in the third match of the series at Dubai.

Pakistan put on a strong show early on in the third ODI and were 150/0 at one stage but a batting collapse meant they ended up with only 257. Sri Lanka were solid in reply until Kumara Sangakkara was run out by Shahid Afridi and Pakistan seized the initiative from there.

A 90'esque score of around 250 seems to be winning total in UAE, a feeling that was emphasized by the third ODI, Sharjah used to be the hotbed of ODI's during the 1990's but it has been eight years since two major team played an ODI there.
Team News:
Pakistan may want to give left arm pacer Junaid Khan a look in, so he could replace Sohail Tanvir. The team may drop the rather lethargic Abdul Razzaq too in favor of Shoaib Malik.

The only change Sri Lanka might make is the inclusion of pacer Welegedra in place of Dilhara Fernando who was disappointing in the last game.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Live Streaming 3rd ODI

Live Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Streaming[ Pak vs SL ] : Sri Lanka's first victory of the tour would have come as a huge morale boost to the Lankan camp, the win also saw the return to form of Mahela Jayawerdene who has struggled throughout the tour.

With the series now level Sri Lanka would come into the match with great confidence that they can put behind hem the defeat in the test series and the humiliation in the first ODI and try to win the ODI series.

Match Finished: Pakistan won by 21 runs.

Pakistan on the other hand will be extremely disappointed at the way they lost the second ODI, they were bowled out in 46.3 overs and were 25 runs short, a target they could easily have achieved had they kept wickets. Umar Akmal hit a marvelous 91 but lost his wicket at a crucial stage. Afridi, Razzaq and Sarfaraz all got starts and were set but couldn't capitalize. Pakistan will now be looking to make amends for the their blunders in the second ODI and take the game to the Lankans.

Team News:
Pakistan are expected to stick with the same team however there are some suggestions that Sohail Tanvir might be included in place of Abdul Razzaq.

Pakistan XI (Probable): 1 Mohammad Hafeez, 2 Imran Farhat, 3 Younis Khan, 4 Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), 5 Umar Akmal, 6 Abdul Razzaq/Sohail Tanvir, 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), 9 Umar Gul, 10 Saeed Ajmal, 11 Aizaz Cheema.

Shahid Afridi Big Bash League

Shahid Afridi Player Profile Big Bash League Melbourne Renegades

The 31-year old former Pakistani Captain, known to the cricketing world as “Boom Boom” for his aggressive stroke-play, is a quality all-rounder. A ballistic batsman and class spin bowler, it’s guaranteed Afridi will bring yet another dimension of experience and versatility to the strongly diverse Renegades line up.

The explosive right-hand batsman, Afridi boasts 1326 runs to his name with a strike rate of 157.66.

Since age 16, when he made the fastest international century at the time, he has dazzled the cricket world with feats like smashing 32 runs in a single over and it's no surprise he holds the title for the most ODI sixes in history with a total of 289. Remarkably he now considers himself a better bowler, and has the most international wickets in T20 cricket at 53.

In 2009/10 Afridi was recruited by South Australia for T20, where he played alongside Renegade recruit Shaun Tait in a stand-out season.

Growing up in a large family comprising nine siblings, amidst the chaos of a noisy household, it was those backyard games of cricket that honed his skills and developed his passion for the game.

The friendly and jovial character, like most Pakistani cricketers, looks up to Imran Khan as his role model.

The father of two also loves to get his dose of Bollywood movies claiming he is a big fan of on screen legend Sharukh Khan.

Tendulkar was Afraid of Shoaib Akhtar says Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has backed Shoiab Akhtar's claims that Sachin Tendulkar was afraid of him. While talking to Pakistani sports channel Geo Super Afridi said:

"Yes I saw Sachin's legs trembling from square leg when Shoaib Akhtar was bowling. He [Tendulkar] was also afraid of facing Saeed Ajmal during the 2011 World Cup Semi Final against Pakistan."

Shoaib Akhtar has faced criticism from Indian fans after claiming in his book " Controversially Yours" that Sachin was scared of him.

According to an excerpt from the book, Shoaib says, “"I bowled (Sachin) a particularly fast ball which he, to my amazement didn't even touch. He walked away! That was the first time I saw him walk away from me-that, too, on the slow track at Faisalabad."

Afridi still T20 Captain ?

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) new official website is a reflection of the poor state of the cricket body, which is evident from the fact that it shows retired allrounder Shahid Afridi as Pakistan’s Twenty20 captain.

Recently, PCB chief Ijaz Butt declared that Afridi is not captaincy material and would never lead the national side at least not during his tenure. But the chairman’s word has not reached the concerned authorities responsible to look after the PCB’s web portal.

Afridi and Butt were at loggerheads, which saw the talismanic allrounder criticizing the current setup of the PCB and ended up paying Rs 4.5 million for serious breaches of disipline. Butt later claimed Afridi was responsible for Pakistan team’s losses in last two One-dayers on the tour of West Indies.

Several weeks have passed since this controversy but still Afridi’s name continues to be mentioned as T20 captain until the filing of this report.

With his fourth delivery, Afridi bowled Richard Coughtrie with a quicker delivery, and then two balls later induced Ian Saxelby to sky a catch to Neil McKenzie at third man.

Sindh MPA's all praise for Shahid Afridi

Sindh MPAs on Friday lauded former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi and criticised the PCB for having suspended the star cricketer’s NOC.

Sports minister Dr Mohammed Ali Shah told the assembly that it was Afridi who took the team to the semi-final of the Cricket World Cup 2011 but, regrettably, he was first removed from captaincy and then from the national side.

The sports minister further said that Afridi was an international star and was loved in the cricket world for hitting more sixes and scoring the fastest international century in the history of the game. He urged President Zardari to remove Ijaz Butt as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Meanwhile, when Shah said it was an injustice with players of Sindh as at the moment there was only one player, Asad Shafiq, who belongs to the province, Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro observed that it would be advisable if there was one Sindhi speaking player in the national cricket team.

Local government minister Agha Siraj Durrani demanded that the PCB chairman should be selected from Sindh, and law minister Ayaz Soomro said there was no shortage of talented players in the province but they have been ignored.
