Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar narrowly survived a car accident in Islamabad in the early hours of Sunday, the pacer was returning home from a five-star hotel.

The car of the former quick, known as the Rawalpindi Express, crashed into a concrete block along the side of the road near Prime Minister Secretariat. The incident appears to be a result of over-speeding.

The front portion of the car was badly damaged but Akhtar escaped unharmed, the police also didn't register a case and allowed him to go home after the accident.
