Waqar Younis Commentary | Funny

Former Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis who put fear in the batsmen hearts with his pace and swing now lights up the commentary boxes during Pakistan matches. A legend who ended his career with 789 international wickets Waqar Younis was the youngest ever test captain for Pakistan at the age of just twenty two years. This post is not to make fun of him, we all respect him for his services for Pakistan. This is just an offbeat light hearted post about some of the "funny" things he says during commentary.

Once Australian commentator Greg Blewett commented on Abdul Razzaq's poor fielding by saying, "That's an ordinary effort by Razzaq" This is what Waqar Younis had to say:
" Oh, that's worse than ordinary; that's extraordinary"
Waqar Younis when praising MS Dhoni's calm demeanour:
"Dhoni has got a beautiful head on his shoulders….."
Once Aamir Sohail praised Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma saying: "Waqar, I think the reason Ishant is getting all that extra bounce is that he is a big lanky lad". This is what Waqar had to say
"Another reason could be that he’s also very tall."
Once Bangladeshi bowler Najaf was bowling to Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya, Najaf was not giving Sanath any width to free his arms, here's how Waqar explained it:
"Jayasuriya likes to have a room, but Najaf is not giving him a room."
Waqar praising a fielded on taking an excellent catch:
"What a catch, that's an absolutely catch"
Waqar on Danish Kaneria giving extra flight to the ball:
"Danish gave an extra air to the ball."
Waqar praising Salman Butt's timing:
"All Salman did was just put bat on ball and timing was perfect. Beautiful play."
Waqar praising an "all-round" performance:
"I remember he is a very good all-rounder. He once he took five wickets and made two runs."
Waqar Younis on why Dilshan is keeping his place in the team despite not performing with the bat or bowl:
"This Dilshan, his bowling is not good and his batting is also not good. But, the only reason he is a Keep in the team is because of his fielding."
