Liverpool would be looking to keep the pressure on the early pace setters in the premier league with three points against Swansea City at Anfield on Saturday. Last week Liverpool brushed aside Roy Hodgson's Fulham 2-0.

Looking ahead to the game Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish said: "It's a game that we're going to have to be very patient in. They [Swansea] pass the ball well, they move it well. We've rued the games against some promoted teams over the last few years." 

And Dalglish's certainly right there... Liverpool have now won just three of the last 10 at home against sides that have just come up from the Championship, dropping points as recently as a fortnight ago when Norwich left with a 1-1 draw from Anfield.

Liverpool would be once again without inspirational captain Steven Gerrard, after the midfielder has an operation during the week after an ankle infection. Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll are expected to start upfront for the Reds.
