Athletic Bilbao maintained their recent good form as they held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw at the San Mames. Bilbao are now unbeaten in their last seven games.
Atheltic Bilbao took the lead in the 20th minute through A.Herrera but Barcelona equalized minutes later when Cech Fabregas headed home.
Bilbao matched Barcelona for most of the game and were able to negate Lionel Messi, the Argentinian maestro was a by stander for most of the second half, Bilbao took the lead in the 80th minute thanks to a Gerrard Pique own goal. The hosts looked set for a win untill late on. But there was late drama as Fernando Amroiebeita was sent off in the 90th minute and Lionel Messi scored to deliver the hammer blow as he leveled the match 2-2.
The draw means Barcelona are now four points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid who thrashed Osasuna 7-1 earlier in the day.
