Steven Gerrard Will Return To Action vs Brighton

Steven Gerrard will make his much anticipated return from injury when Liverpool travel south to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carling Cup next Wednesday. Gerrard has been since March with a recurring groin injury.

After a successful surgery and rehab, Gerrard’s groin strength has now been rated as better than ever by the club’s medical staff and they have since given him the green light to return to full training.

He has been involved in training for a full week now, but has not been deemed fit enough to be thrown in at the deep end against Tottenham on Sunday. Instead he will be eased in back into action a slightly lower profile game, where he won’t be under such immense pressure to put in a performance, and can instead focus on regaining match fitness.
