Nadal to sell items for Pakistan Flood Victims: Aisam

Pakistani tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi said Thursday that world number 2 Rafael Nadal would auction some of his tennis items and use the proceeds to provide relief to flood affectees, Geo News reported. 


He said that the auction will be held from United Nation’s platform.

Qureshi further said that he will also be visiting Peshawar and meet the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to discuss the possibilities to help flood victims.

Monsoon floods this year have killed 270 people, affected over 5.5 million others and destroyed 1.1 million homes in different parts of Pakistan.

Last year, Pakistan was hit by the worst floods in its history that caused $10 billion worth of damages and had affected 21 million people, whereas, tens of thousands of people are still living in refugee camps.
