Rana Naveed signs for Hobart Hurricanes |T20 Big Bash League
Pakistan's Rana Naveed and Australian Test players Tim Paine and Xavier Doherty have joined as the Hobart Hurricanes' first signings for the inaugural Twenty20 Big Bash League.
The eight new city-based sides have salary caps of $1 million per team. Gayle knocked back a $250,000 offer from Perth.
The main contracting window closes on July 22, with teams needing to sign a minimum of 14 players and a maximum of 18, including up to two from overseas, in that time.
Shahid Afridi is also expected to be a part of the T20 Big Bash League, but it is yet to be confirmed which side will go for the crowd puller ex Pakistani captain.
