Stoke City make £12m bid for Scott Dann

Stoke City have made a club-record £12million bid for Birmingham centre half Scott Dann according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are also interested in Dann, 24, after missing out to Manchester United in the race for Blackburn's Phil Jones.

But Stoke City are the  first to move for Dann, who has been widely expected to leave Birmingham since their relegation. That bid for Dann will increase speculation over captain Ryan Shawcross's future at the Britannia Stadium.
  
Dann has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the league during the last two seasons. The 6ft 2in Dann, who been likened to Alan Hansen and Tony Adams.

Ans according to SkySports Alex McLeish has also made Birmingham defender Scott Dann his top target when he takes charge at Aston Villa.
