Razzaq unavailable for Lahore Lions, Wahab doubtful

Abdur Razzaq is certain to miss the Faysal Bank T20 Cup, while the avaiability of left-arm fast-bowler Wahab Riaz remains a question mark, Lahore City Cricket Association president Khawaja Nadeem said talking to The News.
Both players were part of the Lahore Lions squad that lifted the Faysal Bank T20 tournament last year by defeating the Karachi Dolphins.

I can confirm that Razzaq will definitely miss the super-eight tournament which is a big blow for us, while Riaz’s availability reamins 50-50,” Nadeem said.

“It’s a massive loss as Razzaq is a proven match winner.” he added.

The hard-hitting Razzaq is representing Leicestershire Foxes, whereas Wahab is serving Kent in the Friends Life t20 competition and the Pakistani duo have already made significant impact on the tournament for their respective teams.

Razzaq guided his side to the most unlikely of victories on his debut. He hit an unbeaten 62 from 30 balls as the Foxes, who needed 63 off the last four of their 19 overs, won the match with a ball to spare. Wahab has been sensational both with the bat and the ball as he struck an unbeaten 32 off 15 balls to guide Kent to victory. In his second outing, he tore apart Gloucestershire with five wickets in seven balls that included a hat-trick.

“The two have been doing exceptionally well in England and we hope to have the left-arm quick back,” he added.

“I have talked to him and he is pretty much willing to comeback for a week but his availability is still not confirmed. The situation will be clear on Friday (today).”
