The young Sauber F1 driver a huge crash coming out of the tunnel hit the side barrier and then hit a barrier at over 200 KMH. The Mexican was very wide coming out of the tunnel and he veers right, hitting the barrier in exactly the same place as Rosberg. The Sauber flies down over the chicane and hits the tyre wall that Rosberg missed side on, with Perez holding his helmet as he made contact. An ambulance was quickly to the scene.
Confirmed Perez news No fractures, he has concussion and is in a stable condition in hospital, signs are encouraging.
Nico Rosberg had a similar crash during qualifying but he avoided the barrier Perez couldn't.
