Zulqarnain asks for compensation of 14 Crore Pak Rs from Geo News for giving wrong news.
Zulqarnain Haider, the mysterious wicket-keeper of Pakistan, has decided to file defamation case against a Pakistani Media Group. According to that Media Group, Zulqarnain Haider has filed a fresh asylum application in England and has canceled plans to return Pakistan. Zulqarnain Haider has strictly denied this news and has planed to file case of defamation against that Media Group.
Zulqarnain Haider is seeking a compensation of 1 Million Pounds(nearly 14 crore Pakistan rupees) from that Media Group for reporting a wrong news. As said by Zulaqarnain, the case will be filed in the British court in upcoming days. Moreover, he said he is seeking services of human rights law firm, Burney Legal Solicitors, to file this case. He also mentioned that the compensation money will be used for a free Ambulance Service which will benefit needy people of Pakistan.
Zulqarnain Haider mentioned details of defamation on Facebook, a popular social network. It is to be remembered that Zulqarnain went missing from Pakistan’s entourage during 2010 ODI Series against South Africa in UAE. Since his mysterious departure, he has talked number of times to blow whistle in order to unveil match-fixers. But few days ago, he finally decided to come back to Pakistan after he was given surety of security. He is scheduled to leave England on 24th April.
