First Class Players to Get Central Contracts

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Butt has given the go ahead to the PCB cricket committee's proposal of awarding six month central contracts to all active first class cricketers representing regional teams.


All those players who will be in the squad of 20 in the regional teams will be eligible for the contracts according to a source in the PCB.

There would be three categories A, B and C. The top five performers in each team would be placed in the category A. Category B will comprise of the next ten best performers while category C will have five players too.

The players match fee's have also been given a rise. Cricketers representing a region placed in Division I will get Rs. 8000-12000 each for a four-day match while Division II players will get Rs. 7000 each.

Umpires and Scorers Given a Rise too :
The committee has also decided to increment match fees for umpires and scorers according to the nature and status of the tournament.
