Shahid Afridi is likely to lead Pakistan in World Cup

After having meeting with players and management, Ijaz Butt has decided to retain Shahid Afridi as skipper to lead in upcoming World Cup. However, there are some reports that some players still want Misbah as captain but as Afridi is leading Pakistan's one day team for almost a year Ijaz Butt is all set to give a Go to Afridi.

Shahid Afridi's position became more stronger after he hit form in Christchurch by scoring 65 runs of 25 balls and leading Pakistan to victory. But its still not confirmed that when PCB will announce officially, some reports say that PCB will announce it after 4th ODI against NZ while other reports say that PCB will announce after 5th ODI.

It is to be noted Ijaz Butt has taken enough U-Turns in his tenure so no one should be surprized if his mind gets changed again after 4th or 5th ODI. Ijaz Butt was strongly criticized by former players for not naming captain. Former players; Inzamam-ul-Haq, Rashid Latif, Wasim Akram etc have raised their voiced in favour of Shahid Afridi as well.
